چکیده

A new radioimmunoassay (RIA) method has been de scribed. This radioimmunoelectrophoretic binding (REB) technique has been applied to the carcinoembryonic antigen system. In contrast to the RIA method with the use of perchloric acid extraction, in the REB technique the require ment for lengthy and possibly biologically degrading pro cedures on relatively large volumes of sera has been eliminated. Only one-five hundredth as much serum is required by REB than is required by RIA, and the assay can be completed in 2 hr rather than in 5 days. While the sensitivity of REB in the detection of serum carcinoembryonic antigen is similar, there appears to be a different but related specificity, compared to the RIA method.

An aptasensor based on electrosynthesized conducting polymers, Cu2O–carbon dots and biosynthesized gold nanoparticles, for monitoring carcinoembryonic antigen

Current work proposes an inimitable composite, with great electrical conductivity and quite enhanced surface area, (including conducting polymers (poly (cathechol)), Cu2O–carbon dots and green synthesized gold nanoparticles) for detecting acute carcinoembryonic antigen. At current work, the electropolymerization was offered instead of enzyme-catalyzed polymerization of poly (catechol). <b...

Carcinoembryonic Antigen Expression and Resistance to Radiation-and 5-Fluorouracil-Induced Apoptosis and Autophagy

Understanding the mechanism of tumor resistance is critical for cancer therapy. In this study, we investigated the effect of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) overexpression on UV-and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU)-induced apoptosis and autophagy in colorectal cancer cells. We used histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor, NaB and DNA demethylating agent, 5- azacytidine (5-AZA) to induce CEA expression in HT29...

CEA Plasmid as Therapeutic DNA Vaccination against Colorectal Cancer

Background: Human colorectal cancer cells overexpress carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA). CEA is a glycoprotein which has shown to be a promising vaccine target for immunotherapy against colorectal cancer. Objective: To design a DNA vaccine harboring CEA antigen and evaluate its effect on inducing immunity against colorectal cancer cells in tumor bearing mice. <str...

The binding of carcinoembryonic antigen by antibody and its fragments.

In order to assess the potency of antigenic fragments of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) in the radioimmune assay; it is necessary to know whether the high affinity of goat anti-CEA antibody (which makes possible the detection of as little as 10--11M CEA) is due to bivalent binding of the CEA molecule. Immunoglobulin G and the F(ab')2 and Fab fragments derived from it were prepared from an anti-...

Sensitive detection of carbohydrate determinants on carcinoembryonic antigen preparations by lectin and antibody binding using polyethylene glycol.

Blood group determinants have been found in five carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) preparations with a lectin and antibody-binding assay using polyethylene glycol 6000 to separate free from bound radiolabeled antigen. The assay described gives excellent sensitivity for the binding or inhibition of binding of various lectins or antibodies to CEA. One of the CEA preparations investigated has an A1 d...
